No workers on site today as it’s Sunday so all is quiet. The hall moves on apace – you can just about see the stone columns are gradually being built across the front now.
The land in front of the hall is virtually clear of materials and heavy equipment now as the project moves on to the next stage. Presumbly with the bulk of the underground preparations and build completed the focus now shifts to the interior and exterior finishes.
Here is the view the general public will eventually have of the hall – but through beautiful iron gates instead of a security fence!
I wonder if bats will return to the upper storey of the bat barn – everything is being done to make it as welcoming as possible for them. Below will be for storage of garden equipment.
The guard house, with the stone detailing around the windows.
The pool house with belverdere and it looks like a balcony is being built. There will be amazing views from here of the surrounding countryside, the hall and, on warmer days than today, people enjoying the open air pool below.
In Kirkbymoorside vans from a company called Ornate Interiors are regularly parked so I’d guess some amazing plasterwork is being created in the hall interior at the moment.
