But not the main house.
Visiting today the red brick wall has been partially demolished as has the squash court immediately behind:
This will make viewing the demolition of the main house from the road much easier when it does start in the autumn.
You can view the architects drawings on the Ryedale District Council website / planning (cannot replicate them here due to copyright) – these show that the road frontage will have, east to west, a guard house, the main gate, what they are calling the bat barn and then the west gate. The bat barn will be the existing small house pictured below but with major changes to the exterior including the removal of all the existing windows. It will function as a garden store and yes, bats will continue to be allowed to roost in the roof.
Not sure how much more work will be undertaken as the main house will need to remain untouched because of the bats nesting but will let you know of any developments.
